The loan is provided on a risk-sharing basis, NIRSAL shares the risk of the loan with the lender (commercial bank or a microfinance bank).
Credit is also linked to specific agricultural value chains; Crop production, livestock production, and agro-processing. It is available only to farmers and cooperatives engaged in these value chains.
Business Plan
• A detailed business plan utilizing the loan may be required.
• This includes the specific agricultural activities that will be financed, the expected return on investment, and the repayment plan.
Financial statements for loans
Financial records, tax clearance, audited accounts and other financial documents may be required for loan.
Eligibility
• This loan is only available to small-scale farmers and agricultural cooperatives located in specific states of Nigeria.
• Engaged in specific agricultural value chains (eg crop production, livestock production, agro-processing).
• Interested farmers or cooperative societies should also be willing to follow the specialized technical and extension services provided by NIRSAL.
Collateral
