Eligibility Criteria for the NHEF Scholars Program 2023
To qualify as an NHEF Scholar, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be a penultimate student at one of the NHEF Partner Universities, i.e., 300 Level students studying a 4-year course or 400-level students studying a 5-year course.
• Demonstrate academic excellence, as evidenced by a strong academic record and positive evaluations from faculty members.
• Exhibit a commitment to leadership, community service, and philanthropy, as demonstrated through participation in extracurricular activities and involvement in community projects.
• Show a dedication to long-term career development and a willingness to actively engage in the program’s activities.

• Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
• Bayero University, Kano
• Kwara State University
• University of Ibadan
• University of Lagos
• University of Nigeria, Nsukka
• University of Port Harcourt
NB:
• Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (WAT) on May 26, 2023.
• Selection Process: After the application deadline, the NHEF team will review all submissions and select the most qualified candidates based on the program’s eligibility criteria.
• Notification of Acceptance: Successful applicants will be notified via email after the selection process is completed. Be sure to check your email regularly for updates regarding your application status.
Application & Procedure for the NHEF Scholars Program 2023
To apply, follow these steps:
• Visit the NHEF application portal at https://portal.thenhef.org/.
• Register and create an account with your first and last name, email address, phone number, and password.
• Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
Log in using your email and password.
• Click on the Scholars Program application tab from the dashboard.
• Fill in all required bio-data and answer the program essay questions.
• Upload a one-page CV, a one-page Cover Letter, and your most recent Statement of Result (all in PDF format).
• Review and submit your application.
